SkinTox at SkinRenew

When you think of Botox, the first thing that comes to your mind might be the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. However, the application of Botox in skincare has evolved significantly over the years, extending well beyond mere wrinkle reduction.

A prominent example of this evolution is SkinTox, a popular skincare treatment in Korea. Traditional treatments using neuromodulators, such as Dysport and Botox, primarily focus on targeting specific muscles beneath the skin surface. Neuromodulators are injected into the targeted muscles to inhibit muscle activities, thus smoothing and preventing fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyes, and around the crows’ feet.

In contrast, SkinTox specifically targets superficial layers of the skin to achieve a uniform smoothing effect, making it an appealing choice for individuals seeking to refine their skin texture and appearance. This distinction highlights the key difference between traditional Botox treatments and SkinTox. In Korea, where a smooth and radiant complexion is highly sought, SkinTox has become the preferred treatment among many celebrities aiming for the coveted “glass skin” look.

With Dr. Grace Kwon’s unparalleled expertise and dedication to skincare, we are excited to introduce this innovative treatment to SkinRenew patients.

What is SkinTox?

SkinTox treatment utilizes micro-aliquots of Botox, representing a significant advancement in aesthetic procedures. The Botox is administered in minute quantities through fine needles, ensuring that it acts solely on the skin’s surface without affecting the underlying muscle activities. As a result, patients experience the benefits of Botox without the”frozen” appearance often associated with traditional treatments.

Let’s delve into the unique advantages of SkinTox and what you can expect from this advanced skin treatment. Because SkinTox involves injecting Botox into the superficial layer of the skin, unlike conventional Botox, SkinTox focuses on the skin itself.

Here are the many benefits of SkinTox:

  • Reduces skin redness
  • Controls excess oil on the skin
  • Addresses acne
  • Tightens the skin
  • Enhances skin texture
  • Minimizes enlarged pores
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Provides a radiant appearance to the skin

SkinTox achieves these results without the immobility commonly associated with standard Botox treatments.

What to expect on treatment day:

Consultation: Dr. Grace Kwon will assess your skin and discuss your concerns and goals to create a personalized and effective treatment plan.

Preparation: Our medical assistants will apply a topical numbing cream to your face for approximately 30-40 minutes.

Procedure: A specialized preparation of Botox is injected into the surface of your skin through a series of fine needles, tailored specifically to meet your skin’s needs. Dr. Grace Kwon customizes this procedure for each patient and sometimes combines it with Korean Rejuran Skin Booster and SkinTox for enhanced results.

Post-procedure: You may notice slight bumps at the injection sites, along with mild redness, swelling, and/or bruising. These reactions are normal and typically resolve within a day, allowing you to resume your daily activities immediately. Rest assured, our team will be there to guide you through this process.

While SkinTox is an effective treatment option for refining skin texture and appearance, it is essential to recognize that results may vary depending on individual skin conditions, and multiple treatments may be required to achieve optimal results.

Remember that every skin type is unique. Embrace the journey and the improvements, taking the time to celebrate your skin’s natural beauty.
