Mole and Skin Tag Removal In Modesto
Are you tired of looking at that mole on your face or body?
Thanks to radio-frequency technology, many unsightly growths can be removed.
When radiowaves are used instead of a scalpel or laser, only the tissue adjacent to the wire electrode is affected. Ellman radio frequency eliminates the need for sutures and scars to remove moles and skin tags. Radio-frequency uses the latest diathermy technology, the Ellman Surgitron, to shave the mole away until it is smooth with the skin’s surface.
The Ellman radio-frequency can do this and not leave a scar because the radio-frequency energy does not spread into the surrounding tissues, causing damage to normal tissue.
This technique will not work on flat moles as it will leave a depressed scar. This technique is mainly used on cosmetic moles, not moles with cancer concerns.
Your moles will be checked to determine if it is suitable to be removed with the Ellman Surgitron. Dr. Kwon will check for suspicious moles; if there is a concern, she will discuss you making an appointment with a dermatologist for a biopsy.
The only limitation of the Ellman for mole removal is that the mole is flat. Local anesthetic is used to numb the area. Once the area is numb, the mole is shaved away until it is flush with the skin. The Ellman seals off the blood vessels as it shaves away the mole, so there is no bleeding, and because the skin is not cut, no suturing is required.
There is no discomfort or pain. Immediately after the mole is removed, the skin looks a little yellow. A dressing is applied with an ointment and a simple band-aid.
The skin where the mole was removed will dry out in about ten days, but it can take up to two weeks for large moles. Healing depends on the size and depth of the mole or skin tag.
Once healed, the new skin is red, and that redness may take four to six weeks to settle. The final appearance may be like the surrounding skin or slightly paler. Radio-frequency mole removal is effective for the face, head, neck, or other body parts.
